The Caserta Story
In 1978, after moving to the area with her family, Bonnie Caserta was looking for a new challenge. It all started by answering an ad in a local newspaper. She then started gathering information on a fledgling industry called Financial Planning. She had little knowledge of stocks and thought it was an intriguing possibility for a new career. In those days there were few of the financial tools that were available today. 401(k)'s were virtually unheard of since most workers had most of their money in employer pension plans. Stocks were considered investments for the rich with high minimum investments, and most people did not have to invest for their future as is the case today. After a few years of working from home, and her husband Charles seeing the potential that the industry held, they took their shared vision and started a team that is rare in today's world- a husband and wife team.

The original office was at 12 West Street, shared with an old colleague named Stanley Rosinski. Charles likes to recall that the office was joined with the Keene hypnotist and occasionally the floor would vibrate during client appointments. After some doing, in 1984, they decided to move to 51 Main Street, at the corners of Main and Gilbo Avenue, part of the beautiful Sentinel Building. On the second floor, the office offered a convenient location and a great view of downtown Keene. During this time, free educational dinner seminars were a popular and effective way to inform and gather new clients. Many clients came as a result of those seminars offered at the old Winding Brook Lodge.

In 1989, they decided to move to a building at 112 Washington Street, a beautiful original home that offered a unique office environment and close proximity to downtown Keene. The office remains in this location today with no plans of moving.

In 1997, fresh out of college, their son Christopher who had always shown an interest in the business, decided to come and work fulltime. Since he first started, his duties were like any successful small business owners-wearer of many hats. He has gone on to complete the certification in securities and has continued to offer his own ideas and approach to the family business.

To this day, the Casertas continue to keep abreast of a rapidly changing industry and offer clients what they believe is a unique perspective on investing.
